Christmas 2008

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone! We had such a good time at both of the family Christmas parties this year, and Caroline got so many sweet gifts. Here are a few pictures from the past week...

Funny Picture from the Park

As always, Caroline and I went to the park last week. While there, she watched this little 4 year old play. At one point he said something funny and then went down the slide. While he went down, she gave me this look. What I didn't capture was her opening her arms really wide right after.

Well, THAT did not go well...

Clearly Caroline is not Santa's biggest fan. Hopefully next year will go better.

Our Little Chef

Aunt Roz bought Caroline the cutest little apron for her birthday because she knows how much Caroline enjoys helping Momma cook. I just had to share a couple of pictures of her in it last night.

Being Thankful

You know, this has been a tough year for a lot of families, and 2009 will probably be the same. Sometimes I find myself getting down because I worry about tomorrow. Today I was reminded of just how much the Lord has blessed me with.

AWEC helps a family in need every Christmas. Do you know what was on this year's family's Christmas wish list? Pillows, blankets, pots with lids, drinking glasses, spoons, jacket for a dad, jacket for a child, gloves, hat for cold weather, and educational books for an 8 year old boy. This family isn't asking for a Wii or Tonka trucks or the new IPhone. They are basically asking for help to stay warm this winter. It really puts things back in perspective for me.

I know this year is tough for everyone. However, if you can find any small amount of $$ to donate...I would encourage you to do so. Donate to whatever charity you like...but please donate. Let's all try to remember that there are people way less fortunate than we are out there. Even $1 would help. Just think of the good that could be done if everyone could donate $1.

Jennifer Nichols Photo Shoot

All the 36th Street gals had a photo shoot with Jennifer Nichols last week, and it was a lot of fun. Caroline and her BFF Reese (Lindy's daughter) joined us, and Jennifer got some really cute shots. They are finally at an age where they play together! I am also throwing in a couple of our "headshots" b/c I actually liked them (you all know that never happens).

More Winter Attire

Okay, I think I am officially obsessed with winter clothing. Here is a picture of Caroline in one of her new hats. Note the matching sweater (and she also has matching mittens). Now if only we lived in a winter state. LOL

Eating Lunch is Tough Work

I feed Caroline lunch yesterday right on time - noon, as usual. Around 12:20ish she started to fuss a little in her chair, so I quickly finished typing the email I was working on. I walked over to her, and she was out cold. I thought it was so funny! I couldn't help but take a picture.

Christmas Decor

I finally finished the tree and a fireplace decor for Christmas. I'm so proud! This is the first year that I feel like our tree looks like a real "family" Christmas tree. It almost reminds me of the one we put up every year growing up. Great memories!

Our Fall Attire

It was 40 degrees on Tuesday morning and we got to dress Caroline up for the fall finally (it doesn't happen often). I thought I would show off a couple of pictures from her trip to the doctor's office (Just a follow-up visit after her ear infection).

Reading Sure Is Fun

As many of you know, Caroline LOVES books. If I had to guess, I would say that we read 30-40 books (probably 15 books, multiple times) every day. It's the most fun to watch her "read" them to herself. But she loves nothing more than to crawl into your lap and have you read to her. Here are a couple of pictures of her reading with GiGi.

Dear Camera Adapter Thingy

Please for the love of Pete show up. I can not download the pictures I take without you. Which makes for a boring blog. Thank you!
