Playing at the Park with Daddy

Very rarely do we ever get a chance to snap pictures of Gabe and Caroline playing at a park. Last weekend we were at one of Caroline's cousins' birthday parties, and they had a fantastic toddler playscape at the park. Gabe seized the opportunity, and I remembered to take pictures. Note how "laid back" he is while playing with her. I need to learn how to do that! I usually have my hand in close vicinity to her back for fear that she will fall down.

Pooped Out - Playing with Lita is Tough!

We were at Gabe's parents' house a few weekends ago when suddenly I realized that it had gotten very quiet and I couldn't find Caroline or Gabe's mother anywhere. I peeked into the master bedroom, and look at the cute site I saw.... Note: I'm sorry the picture is so dark. I didn't want to use the flash and risk waking them up!



Fifteen minutes later, Gabe's mother woke up and moved Caroline to a pallet on the bed. I couldn't resist snapping a picture of this too. She looked so sweet!

Conversations with Caroline

While playing with her farm:

Caroline: Oh look Mommy!
Me: I see! Where did your pig go?
Caroline: Pig went time out Mommy.
Me: The pig went to time out? Why?
Caroline: Pig hit Cine (Caroline). Pig take Cine (Caroline's) lovey.
Me: Hum. Yes, the pig should not have hit Caroline or taken your lovey.
Caroline: Nooooooo. No mam.

Miss Minnie

Caroline is obsessed with Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Minnie Mouse these days. We've decided to make her birthday party theme Minnie Mouse, and she's going to be Minnie for Halloween. Here are a couple of pictures I took of her in the costume we bought last week. Notice her "posing" in the second one!

Conversations with Caroline

My friend Olivia does periodic post called "Conversations with Georgia" (her three year old) that are always funny. So, I'm stealing the idea. :-) Here is my first "Conversations with Caroline" post...


Wednesday's end-of nap conversation:
C: Mommy, Mommy (calling from her room - she was supposed to be napping)
R: Hi Muffin! (as I'm opening the door)
C: (standing up naked and diaper-less) Mommy, Cine (what she calls herself) go pee pee on big girl bed.
R: Oh no! Where?
C: Right there! (pointing to the spot...and sure enough she did)
R: Where is your diaper and clothes?
C: I don't know either?! Right there. Cine took off. Diaper all wet. Clothes all wet.

And she was right. Then Thursday's end of nap conversation:
C: Mommy, Mommy (calling from her room)
R: Hi Muffin! (as I'm opening the door)
C: (standing up naked and diaper-less) Mommy, Cine no nap in big girl bed.
R: You didn't take a nap in your big girl bed?
C: Noooooo! (in a very sweet and funny voice...and she was right, she hadn't napped, I was listening)
R: Did you go pee pee in your bed today? (because her clothes were off again)
C: Nooooo! (same voice...and she was right again, nothing wet thank goodness)
R: Where are you clothes?
C: Cine took diaper off. Cine took clothes off. Want some cold milk.

Hoping we don't have a similar experience today...

First Day of School

Caroline's first day of school = SUCCESS! According to her teacher, Mrs. Claire, she did great. She cried for less than a minute after I dropped her off, and then cried a little when they turned out the lights for "nap time." Of course...she didn't nap at all. When I got there, she and Gwenny were sitting on her nap mat playing (reminds me of when Rachel and I use to do that at Rocking R when we were 2-3 years old).

She also enjoyed reporting all of her day's activities to me. As well as telling me that Gwenny didn't drink her aqua. :-)
