Another Lesson Learned

I have slowly figured out that you should NOT purchase big ticket infant / child items you don't need right after birth until after you get the hang of being a parent. Case in point: our high chair. We spent $100 on ours (clearance sale) and thought we were being really smart because (a) it was cute and (b) it was plastic - easy to wash, right? Ha!

We quickly figured out that it has TONS of nooks and cracks that food just loves to get stuck in. And the "cute" patterned cloth backing has to be wash all the time (Who am I kidding...should be washed all the time. I don't wash it enough.).

Yesterday I decided enough was enough and went to Walmart for a new chair. I got this one. Why do I love it (besides the fact that it was $26)? (a) Caroline LOVES it. She really wants to sit with the adults and has been asking to sit in a regular chair for days - but I don't really trust her not being harnessed in.



(b) nothing cloth to wash anywhere and (c) there are no nooks or cracks for things to get lost in. This picture was taken right after she got done eating...I just had to wipe the food out. No getting the vaccum out (which still didn't get everything that fell through the cracks) and no starting the washing machine.



Oh! And for anyone that likes the tray a regular chair has. This one has it too!



Now if I could only get the $100 back that I spent on the first one. Oh well! Another lesson learned!
